CosmeticBusiness 2024: Where Beauty Starts

Driven by the inspiring motto "Where Beauty Starts", CosmeticBusiness will open its doors on 5 and 6 June 2024 at MOC Munich. 418 exhibitors from 23 countries will be showcasing the latest trends and innovations, from ingredients and manufacturing to packaging. The SPOTLIGHT novelty show promises to provide plenty of inspiration, featuring newly discovered active ingredients and sustainably produced packaging solutions that help shoppers minimise the environmental impact of their purchasing decisions. The conference programme will offer further insights into industry trends, with the INNOVATION CORNER set to feature top speakers such as Alicia Lindner from BÖRLIND, Birgit Huber from IKW and Mark Smith from NATRUE.

418 exhibitors from 23 countries will present their innovative products and services geared towards the conception and design of tomorrow's sustainable cosmetics products in three exhibition halls. "As well as being an excellent showcase for the latest trends and innovations, CosmeticBusiness is a platform for sustainable solutions that are poised to shape the future of the cosmetics industry. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of exhibits and insights into cutting-edge developments and research, spread throughout three fully booked exhibition halls," says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

CosmeticBusiness Unveils a New Look: "Where Beauty Starts"

CosmeticBusiness will debut a fresh, modern look in 2024. "The relaunch lends CosmeticBusiness a contemporary aesthetic that underlines its importance as a showcase for innovations in the cosmetics industry," says Project Director Carmen Bender. The motto "Where Beauty Starts" encapsulates the trade show's pivotal role as a launchpad for emerging trends and ideas.

Global Product Variety and Many New Exhibitors

Both established suppliers and promising newcomers will take the wraps off their innovations across nearly 12,000 square metres of exhibition space. One in three exhibitors comes from abroad. Most companies from outside Germany are from France, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and the Netherlands. However, companies from China and Taiwan will also be presenting their portfolios.

The compelling concept of the CosmeticBusiness trade show has attracted over 40 first-time exhibitors. In the area of ingredients, for example, suppliers such as A-Sense from Poland, the Swiss fragrance designer Essencia and the distributor Gustav Grolmann are set to add to the variety on display. The trade show will also zone in on innovative solutions relating to packaging and production processes. Exhibiting for the first time this year are Elanders Kaisheim, a specialist in packaging and printing solutions, and symex from Bremerhaven. This company develops production lines and will present advanced systems for manufacturing emulsions and suspensions.

INNOVATION CORNER: a Hotspot for Trends and Innovations

As an integral part of the exhibition, the INNOVATION CORNER in Hall 4 brings together the SPOTLIGHT novelty show, the start-up area and the stage for the conference programme. Here, innovative active ingredients, recyclable packaging solutions and the zerooo multiple-use system will be explored in more depth.

The novelty show will showcase how high-quality research can be turned into effective ingredients for the next generation of cosmetics products. Be it an antioxidant olive fruit extract from Gaia Tech or a Zingiber extract from Sederma designed to combat dark circles, natural active ingredients are perfectly aligned with the trade show's motto, "Where Beauty Starts". Baolift from novoclon trains the skin to exhibit more durability and vitality, while LignoGuard from Lignovations utilises the natural protective properties of lignin for cosmetics products. Active ingredients sourced from the ocean, such as Sealuliss from MaBitec or Luteana scalp from Microphyt, draw on findings from marine biology to promote skin health.

"Where Beauty Starts" can also be with sustainably produced shelf-ready packaging that helps shoppers minimise the environmental impact of their purchasing decisions. Above all, exhibitors at this year's event are expected to demonstrate how they use mono-material solutions to facilitate recycling and support the circular economy. Aptar has added its new airless dispenser, Mono Micro, to its Micro range, while Corpack will reveal fully recyclable packaging for lipstick, mascara and powder. Tubex and KM Packaging, meanwhile, are committed to providing high-quality sustainable packaging with high PCR content. Lifocolor is promoting recycling-friendly design that simplifies the sorting and recycling processes with its new masterbatches. SeaMe will present its reusable PET mono-material bottle, which forms part of the zerooo multiple-use system for cosmetics.

Presentations by experts on topics such as upcycling, greenwashing and sustainable consumer behaviour promise to deliver valuable insights and ideas. Speakers such as Alicia Lindner from BÖRLIND, Birgit Huber from IKW and Niels Holger Wien will share their pioneering ideas and practical topics. Mark Smith from NATRUE will discuss anti-greenwashing directives and how to best protect consumers and the environment.
